first grade at Let's Pretend Hospital field trip

OPES first graders attended the Let's Pretend Hospital, a project of the UAH Nursing School. Let's Pretend Hospital is designed for first grade students to help reduce the fear and anxiety they may experience if they must be hospitalized or visit the emergency room. Children can see hospital equipment and inside an ambulance. They use their imaginations as they learn about some things that might happen in an emergency. The annual event is staged by the UAH College of Nursing senior class as a management-leadership activity and for all nursing students as a service-learning project. Our students enjoy this valuable learning opportunity every year.
