There is always something good happening at OPES!
The Math Team participated in the DCS Math Tournament today! These students meet weekly with the math coach, Mrs. Mann, and the teacher sponsor, Mrs. Pedings, to prepare for competition.
Elias won a trophy for 4th grade.
Eliseo won a trophy for 5th grade.
More math news- yesterday was LEAP DAY and students celebrated with Leap Day Math activities!
Teachers are always learning at OPES as well. DMI Math coaches were at OPES today, bringing teachers new ideas and sharing feedback to build our skill and enthusiasm for math instruction.
And lastly, our educational partner, TTL, Inc., bought cartloads of marvelous prizes to replenish the AR Store to reward our hard-working readers. Daily reading builds reading skills so please be sure your students are reading every day! DCS students have a quality school library in addition to Myon, a program that gives students access to incredible ebooks. The public library is a wonderful place for free reading materials for the whole family. We also hope you will find books to add to your family library that children will read again and again.
