Who knew you could make it yourself? First graders declare that homemade beats the store! Mrs. Smith's class made real butter from heavy whipping cream by mixing the ingredients and shaking the mix while listening to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off". The results were fabulous! In preparation for a classroom feast tomorrow, Ms Janet and students peeled and cut apples to make applesauce! We can do it ourselves--- learning about how things are made, following directions, measuring, working together, and the most fun- tasting the results. The halls of OPES are going to smell amazing on Friday!
